you just don't see the benefits of this mouse

I played with it for a few minutes at CompUSA or something. Unfortunately it was hooked up to a Cube which was frozen, and I didn't feel like trying to figure out how to reboot it. It is a decent mouse but nothing very special. Not $70 bucks worth. Maybe to executive types at a design company but not for a working class guy like me.

I have to admit the Cube/Digital Monitor/Clear speaker/Mouse set up looked really good. That's just not something that out weighs functionality in my book. The fact it was frozen didn't help though. A lot of Macs I see at Fry's and CompUSA are frozen, as are many of the Wintel machines.

Competitively speaking Microsofts Infrared mouse has three advantages:

1) Ergonomic shape. Like the Logitec mouse I put on my G4 it fits your hand exactly the way your hand would rest if resting naturally on your desk. I think this out weighs the ergonomic advantages of mouse as button.

2) Multiple buttons and scroll wheel. This is a plus or minus for some people, but for most a plus.

3) The Microsoft mouse is roughly $50, maybe less as it sells on the open market.

The Mac mouse has one advantage.

1) It looks good.

What are its innovative properties? Other than Mouse as button? What is the big advantage of Mouse as button?
