Loofah - Pheasants aren't my top pet bird pick. Nothing resembling a personality, in my book. We had a couple of exotic orientals more spectacular than any peacock. Breeding plan was a bust. These birds wouldn't have lasted a day "on the outside" in our environment.

Chickens can be cool but don't do much for "curb appeal".
My faves were the Guineas. Those birds are hilarious and pretty safe when grown - too big or too ugly to attack.

Best single bird ever was "Mo" - big beautiful male dove that loved to perch on my head or shoulder. Maybe he had parrot fantasies and I was his pirate. We keep a picture of him in the living room.

I once stayed in a house in Bel Air, CA that had several acres of lush hillside in back under a high canopy of wire mesh. Put together by folks from the San Diego Zoo, I was told. That guy had some birds.
