Digital Island Closes Acquisiton of SoftAware Networks
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 2000--Digital Island, Inc. (Nasdaq:ISLD - news), a leading Global e-Business Delivery Network, announced today it has completed the acquisition of SoftAware Networks, Inc. Based on Digital Island's closing price on September 14, 2000, the transaction is valued at approximately $260 million.
The acquisition brings Digital Island's customer count to nearly 1,000 customers worldwide, and provides growth opportunities in the Los Angeles-based media and entertainment market, as well as supporting the company's deployment of Intel-based hosting solutions and build-out of the its global streaming network.
