Hi gruetz:

Re. BBFW and the incumbents, the two companies that
have a need for a BBFW strategy are WCII and FON.
Unfortunately they are hurting badly right now--
the FCC erred badly in blocking their merger since
RBOCs are about to go into the long distance business,
which by itself will provide a phenomenal amount of
competition.

I am not sure the BBFW market can support 4 players.
Even though I understand lots of analysts and SI
posters love ARTT, this assessment baffles me.
ARTT has essentially no operations after years of
being in business. It is just a portfolio of licenses,
but in my eyes, licenses are not worth that much.
What counts is building a business and a brand name.
The only way I can make sense of ARTT is if they are
a front for Q set up expressly to get discounted
licenses (the small business discount depends
on not having significant revenue producing
operations). Otherwise as a stand alone operation,
in spite of its data centered strategy, it looks
terribly lacking. I have severe reservations about
TGNT (the BBFW CLEC of the NFL?) as well.

Best regards,

Bernard Levy
