I'll bet there were some studies showing people liked their horses better than those noisy new contraptions, too.

Edit: In fact, now that I think about it, I'll bet there were studies showing (most?) people preferred mainframes to PC's. The PC market was for a while one of renegades, not the mainstream. Mainstream folks by and large didn't want to be bothered learning new (and esoteric) skills like how to deal with swapping floppy disks.
