How did he mean that thought could reduce energy barriers by a kind of tunneling?
I can't help but think that consciousness/sentience exists somehow independent of the brain and is tapped into. Everything we create (perhaps I should say "organised"), everything man-made around us came from ideas/mind using the body as agent. Now this doesn't mean that all matter, or that all organised matter begins with sentience, but on the other hand there is something compelling to consider. THOUGHT WORKS. We know that thought works. It is not easy to therefore simply discard the idea that the whole universe could derive from mind, particularly when we consider ordered, and organised existence within that universe--when we marvel at the mathematics, and the universal constants, and the black holes, and the other mysteries. One keeps remembering: THOUGHT WORKS, AND IT IS THE ONLY THING WE KNOW FOR AN ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY, THAT WORKS TO CREATE AND ORGANISE. Indeed the very meaning of organise would imply thought. Evolution may well be grounded in thought in a way which we have no inkling of yet.
It is not at all a proof, but the intuition is there. When we find something that works to logically link two ideas, it seems sensible not to discount the possibilities. |
