Scumbia, I think the problem is more that most of the easy to find and pump oil resources are being depleted. We have hundreds of yrs. of energy supplies in coal, coal tar and shale deposits, not to mention nuclear and wind and solar. This country could easily be energy independent if we wanted to pay the price. The question is more how much will energy cost rather than will there be energy. My bet is that fuel cells will take over 30 to 50% of car vehicle needs within 25 to 30 yrs.
