so true Trader Dave, frustrating as a novice investor to see stocks like brcm & pmcs get hit due to stuff like "sagging computer sales"!!! seems like folks are intent on finding fault with sectors (e.g., broadband, fiber optics) that are burgeoning. Makes ya wonder what is going on when a promising stock like oracle (the most recent example) gets slammed for beating earnings whisper & meeting rev forecast...can't really expect companies this size to grow 20% forever. oh well, like you say, you can't hold down a good sector forever...easy enuff to understand that streamiong live video / audio over the web viewed on your tv will consume endless bandwith. exciting to think that in 5 yrs(?) anyone will be able to look at and talk to anyone anywhere in the world. i think this will help the likes of amcc
