Got a chuckle out of that. Capital gains and dividends are better than interest. In Canada no tax break on a mortgage but no tax if you sell for more than you bought. No tax on lottery prizes. Running a small business on the side if you are a wage earner helps. Must admit, not a lot of room to manoeuvre. A colleague had a small business. Was nabbed with 1200 marijuana plants in her house. Claimed it was for personal use. Judge didn't quite see it her way. That's the problem with some of these small businesses. The govt. doesn't appreciate entrepreneurship in its purest form. Guess I'll stick to capital gains and dividends.
