I think I may have too much noise in my head already, but adding more tends to calm me - I like going to sleep with the stereo on low. The difference between kinds of noise is rather remarkable if you look in the frequency space. Some systems are relatively Gaussian and "flat". Others are loaded at the low end. This is what is called Pink Noise which increases monotonically with a 1/f factor. Music is rich in 1/f.

What's interesting is that the units of the 1/f factor are time. Huh? A function of time? Why would that be? One of the most 1/f "noisy" materials is, would you believe, carbon? Coincidence? This is the magic elixir that I'm talking about. Does carbon have a highly unusual permitivity for this signal, making it particularly good at detecting it? Carbon, the preferred antenna material for "life"!
