Thomas, Through the years as an investor I have seen that if there was money to be made, companies have found a solution for most concept that at one time were thought to be impossible to solve. IMHO, Time and money is all that is standing in the way of data transmitted by light to our houses. For investors that want to invest in the optical sector and networking in general, the trick will be understanding what is possible now, who will be producing it, and what can come along as a disruptive technology that will change the current landscape? In my mind, solving and jumping the optical hurdles we are faced with now, are of the utmost importance not only in achieving broadband for the masses, but the high-tech sector as a whole. That's why I call broadband for the masses, The Next Big Thing. Without broadband, the high-tech market will continue, sector by sector to slow down. It has happen in the PC sector, it has happen in software, it could be happening in semiconductor sector, it will happen in the network sector. That's why the network sector has taken center stage in this investors mind, and why the supposed slow down in telecom buying has this investor worried.
