Mike,I see a 10-15% revenue growth for the telecom industry - most of it in wireless and data.
Sure in the 1980's the baby bells were like utilities but now they have much better growth prospects.
Additionally, the big players can have a cash flow growth exceeding the revenue growth because of economies of scale - once the network is build, the incremental cost of any additional revenue becomes smaller and smaller.
I currently own VZ and T but I also would like to buy into WCOM and maybe some others. The big players may profit from the default of smaller players running out of funding.
I see even bigger risk for the telecom equipment companies since they have very high PE multiples and their growth may decelerate.
