Robert - yup, a parameter to a function can be variable, another function, etc. Just as you would expect.

And if/then/else constructs work as you would expect.

I think the only true downside to Tradestation (cost aside) revolves around options for data feed. In particular, for me in Canada, the options are even more limited (for Canadian data). Real time data is not hard to obtain, its history for backup and downtime should you not be collecting for any reason.

If you do take the Tradestation step, be sure to obtain it cheap or on a trial basis from Omega and check it out thoroughly.

Oddly enough I bought TS when I was doing much more systems trading than I do now; my trading now is systematic but not indicator based. I don't need, strictly speaking, the power of the language now but I still prefer the look and feel of the application and the charts, and the couple of funky things I have done I would not be able to do in other applications.
