I would add one point to this debate: valuation. MCD is trading at its lowest valuation since '94. KO would have to trade at about $38 to be as undervalued on a (recent) historical basis as MCD is. I think a stock's historical valuation is worth a look if you're doing more than short-term trading. That was one reason I was thinking about GM at 57; the stock hasn't traded at a PE lower than 6 in many years, I think more than 10. Historical valuation versus growth rate is one point at which FA can approach the usefulness of TA, IMHO.
