Steinberg said Rambus filed its SDRAM and logic-interface patent claims two years after leaving JEDEC in 1996. That would be 1998, by conventional arithmetic. At which point, SDRAM had been on the market for, uh, a while. I will leave it to the legal authorities on Yahoo to explain how that works. Cheers, Dan.
