Hi Alan,

The icons in the Control Panel are .CPL files, and can mostly be found in the \Windows\System directory (Win9x).

Just deleting the corresponding .CPL file won't remove it from your Control Panel, some registry editing is usually required.

If you can find out the exact name of the .CPL file, deleting all references of it in the Registry will fix your problem.

However, it's much easier to use the Control Panel tab in TweakUI to remove the icons using a nice GUI interface.

If you don't have it, let me know what OS you're using, and I'll point you in the right direction.
