All the SDRAM and DDR controllers go for the life of the contract with is past Jan 1st. That means that NEC and Hitachi take the DRAM related patents are valid since they will be paying for them for many years to come and past the Jan 1 timeline that only the DRAM shifts to the new venture. I expect the new venture will sign soon after starting business since currently it doesn't even exist.
