In all fairness, Gary, these folks did not start at the top. Most, (perhaps not Baldwin) have experienced the world of menial jobs...perhaps more than you or I.

Like they say (my memory may fail me on a word or two)in old song "Do you know the way to San Jose".... 'LA is a great big freeway, put a hundred down and buy a car. In a week or maybe two they'll make you a star. Dreams turn into years and blow away, and there you are without a friend you're parkin' cars and pumpin' gas."

This is more the case than it's not. And among those who make it, very few do so overnight.

That you don't care about their political endorsements is one thing, but give them their just due. They know going to bed hungry, not having the proverbial "pot to piss in" and usually remember from whence they came, thus their apparent social responsibility.
