Rambus has stated (including again in their recent analysts meeting) that controllers generate 4-6% royalties (with average being around 5%).

So you are suggesting that Hitachi is paying 5% for SDRAM controllers?

Suppose that Hitachi memory controllers were embedded in their CPU designs? How would that work?
