Dear Tim:

If you have an EV type system with a fuel cell sustainer and a battery boost unit, you can have a peak power 2 to 4 times for those needed bursts of acceleration or climbing hills but, on long runs only be able to do 80MPH. Say like about 40KW for a minivan like mine (1991 Aerostar with stick shift) with a boost battery NiCad of about 80KW for 1 minute (3KW for an hour normally). You would get about 150HP for acceleration (and because it's electric, better than the 200HP 3.8 Liter gas engine (around 8 sec 0 to 60 accel)).

And you get 4WD for not much more, Anti-spin accel, and ABS to boot. Plus about a 100/60 city/hwy mileage>

Pete
