News: Another prospect in California

Olympic saddles up Cowboy interest

Olympic Resources Ltd ORL

Mon 18 Sept 2000 News Release
Mr. Daryl Pollock reports
Olympic Resources has agreed to participate to the extent of a 10-per-cent
working interest in the Cowboys No. 13-16 well to be drilled on the Rancho
Capay gas field in Glenn county, California. Drilling operations commenced
Sept. 16, 2000.
The Cowboys prospect has three Kione targets and one main Forbes target
with several secondary Forbes targets. The uppermost Kione target is in the
Kione A sand interval which has a distinctive seismic character similar to
both producing intervals in the TA 16-1 well. The seismic signature also
indicates some stratigraphic variation in addition to structural closure
against the main fault in this area. A second Kione target, the Kione C
sand, also contains a distinctive seismic anomaly and was a good producer
in the nearby Weldgen No. 1-22 one mile from the Cowboys prospect. The
lowermost Kione D sand target displays a four-way closed high. This
interval is present and gassy in the War Wagon well less then one mile away
but amplitudes from the Cowboy area appear much stronger.
The main Forbes target is the F4 zone which was penetrated outside the main
anomaly by the nearby Big Jake well which tested tight from perforations
between 5,530 feet to 5,580 feet at 340 thousand cubic feet per day. The
Cowboys location will penetrate this anomaly in very good amplitude and 100
feet high to the Big Jake. The amplitude also indicates the sand quality
increases substantially over the Cowboys. Three secondary Forbes targets
will also be penetrated by the Cowboys.

statements.
