Pat: My general understanding is DMT will give 1.5Mbps at 18,000ft, CAP will give 1.5Mbps at 12,000-15,000ft. I'm not sure about that higher end on the CAP solution.. 15,000 tf. Here is a quote from TeleChoice on RADSL CAP..

"Bell Atlantic will market the service as offering at least 1.5Mbps, even though the Westell RADSL equipment is capable of 6Mbps. Bell Atlantic wants to make sure it does not oversell the capability. "By moving the equipment closer to the customer -- using the fiber optic lines to shorten the distance of the copper links -- we can raise the bandwidth to the end customer, reaching that 6Mbps in a lot of instances," says Nelson. "Customers who are more than 9,000 feet away from the CO won't be able to get the 6Mbps. If it's 12,000 feet to the connection, then we'll probably tell them it's 1.5Mbps. We want to cover the maximum number of subscribers with this technology."
