well, there's no doubt that the spreadsheet is highly
optimized - when it ran into troubles in one place I'd
just mess around until I could fix it and not kill the rest
of it

I think one reason that the returns got so high is because
it sold off all the shares one or two times over that period

I never much paid attention to drawdown, because once it made the first 50k profits it never went negative again (as compared to the intial 100k investment). of course there were times such a the '90 crash, when you would spend all your money and then just have to sit there and do nothing for a couple of months until the price recovered.
so would that count as 100% drawdown?

anyway, if you want I could send you the sheet and you could tear it appart if you wanted - lord knows I'd probably find out it wasnt really working at all <G>
