For all you AMAT junkies... The current issue of Solid State Technology has a lengthy article called "The Precision 5000 Story" a nice history that discusses the evolution of Applied as a company through the development of their cluster tool...a $10M gamble, not bad. Excellent article for anyone realtively new to the industry. You can subscribe at their web site www.solid-state.com that features a special 40th anniversary page sponsored by...you know already know who...I would recommend this issue to anyone not getting it (free) already as it explains the last 40 years in the industry by focusing on each major technology segment. Damn, I am in a good mood.
