Floware Receives Purchase Orders to Supply WALKair System to FirstMark Communications Spain Valued at $10 Million
OR YEHUDA, Israel--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2000--Floware Wireless Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ: FLRE - news), a leading provider of broadband wireless access (BWA) communication systems, today announced that it has received two purchase orders from its partner Siemens, to supply its WALKair system to FirstMark Communications Spain. The orders are valued at approximately $10 million. FirstMark Communications Spain is the Spanish subsidiary of FirstMark Communications Europe S.A., a leading pan-European broadband access carrier.
These two purchase orders, which are for the 3.5 GHz radio frequency band, follow a previous order for approximately $2 million that Floware has already begun shipping.
FirstMark Communications Spain selected Floware's WALKair system, during the second quarter, for the rollout of a broadband wireless access network to provide small and medium enterprises (SMEs) with high capacity data and voice services throughout Spain.
The selection in Floware as a BWA vendor followed decisions by FirstMark Communications Germany to deploy Floware's WALKair system in a fixed wireless network in many regions around Germany, as well as FirstMark deploying the WALKair system in a network in Luxembourg. Moreover, Floware was selected as the BWA equipment provider for Teleweb in Portugal, which is partially owned by FirstMark and is Portugal's second largest Internet service provider (ISP).
