Vicon Wins Judges Choice Award for Best New Product At New York Security Show
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 19, 2000--Vicon's new Kollector(TM) 7000 Real-Time Digital Recorder recently won one of the most prestigious awards in the security industry, the Security Industry Association's (SIA) Judges Choice Award for Best New Product.
The Kollector 7000 was chosen over 54 other products submitted to the SIA's New Product Showcase. Selection criteria included uniqueness, performance, cost and operational benefit to users.
The Kollector 7000 is a real-time digital recorder that can simultaneously record and playback up to 4 digital video channels. The unit uses the latest in digital video compression and recording techniques to provide extended recording times on standard hard drives, eliminating the need for backup tapes. The Kollector 7000 communicates with other Kollector products over standard LAN/WAN connections, creating distributed recording systems that can be controlled from master PC review stations anywhere on the network. The Kollector 7000 features an intuitive graphic user interface that provides for easy setup and operation.
The SIA's New Product Showcase is a nationally recognized promotion and awards program which is held twice each year at the International Security Conference (ISC) Expos in Las Vegas and New York. Designers and manufacturers of electronic security products, peripherals and services are invited to submit their newest products and services for this competition. The Kollector 7000 beat 20 finalists and was awarded during a ceremony held at the ISC show in New York.
