I'm not a lawyer, so I can't argue with your legal expertise. It seems to me that if it could be proved that his actions were done to manipulate the market for his personal profit, then saying "I didn't have any idea the stock would drop that much so quickly" might not cut it. But I don't have a clue, and I don't think you do either. jmac is a lawyer, that at least gives him a slight advantage over us common sense folks.
