Scumbria, Is your modem connection POTS, cable or something else? If it's POTS, it can't do it justice. Once you open your net pipeline, you'd wish for a RDRAM PC. I saw a big difference when moved from an SDRAM to a RDRAM system (same CPU speed, HD, etc..) to the overall speed and responsiveness of the system, which translated in me being able to do a lot more a lot faster.
