Ten,

RDRAM makes up for it with better bandwidth utilization. DDR-266 has much worse bandwidth utilization, which is why they have to brute-force "theoretical bandwidth" higher than RDRAM. This brute-forcing also gives DDR a little marketing edge over RDRAM, but then again, I know how much you LOATHE empty marketing promises ...

Pure Rambus FUD. A video refresh to DDR will achieve very close to maximum theoretical bandwidth. A bit-blit to DDR will also achieve maximum bandwidth. Preloading a block of contiguous data will similarly achieve peak bandwidth.

Rambus uses the spurious argument that more banks on DRDRAM achieves better page hit rates, but as my "friend" Paul DeMone points out, real world DRDRAM controllers only keep 4 banks open, to avoid burning up the chip.
