TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE MIAMI FL
530 PM EDT TUE SEP 19 2000

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

AN AIR FORCE HURRICANE HUNTER PLANE INVESTIGATED THE AREA OF
DISTURBED WEATHER OVER THE SOUTHWEST GULF OF MEXICO AND REPORTED
THAT THERE WAS A BROAD LOW PRESSURE AREA BUT NO DEFINITE CENTER OF
CIRCULATION. THE SYSTEM...WHICH IS MOVING SLOWLY NORTHWARD...IS
FAIRLY WELL ORGANIZED AND UPPER-LEVEL WINDS REMAIN SOMEWHAT
FAVORABLE FOR DEVELOPMENT. A TROPICAL DEPRESSION COULD FORM IN THIS
AREA DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO...AND ANOTHER HURRICANE HUNTER PLANE
IS SCHEDULED TO INVESTIGATE THE GULF TOMORROW. INTERESTS IN THE
NORTHERN AND WESTERN GULF SHOULD MONITOR THE FUTURE PROGRESS OF THIS
SYSTEM.
