Now you want to switch like a good conservative and give total jurisdiction to the Federal Government in regard to matters of Education. The Educational Bureaucrats from the Dept. of Education in DC who have not set foot in a classroom for over a decade are the authorities and maestros of Education? ROFL. I know some of those guys. They are even more abstract and dangerous than the NEA and UFT.

My point is that standards have already gotten tougher and performance has lagged. The problem is not tougher standards, but getting enough quality teachers to perform the task. That is the problem.
