The Euro is a strange beast...
It is backed by a consortium of nations, but who will take ultimate responsibility for it?

In the olden days of yore, currency was backed by gold.
In modern times, it's backed by the strength of the issuing country.
That's why US dollars are as good as gold.
Who could imagine the world economy in the light of US failure???

But the Euro is in its own way an orphan,
spawned of many, but embraced by few.

Only the US has the clout and cash to step up to support it.

Aufwiedersehen,
Dss
