I kinda liken it to momentum investing, in that the USD has been the rage of late, due to it being the currency of internation trade, thus in demand. Add to the equasion the popularity of the US equity market (for investment purposes;?), particularly with the Europeans (Infostream et al).
However the day will come when the tide turns. When money runs from the $$$ look out, both for the $$$ as well as our equity market. When this happens (and it will) it aint going to be pretty......make Oct 87 and 98 look like a walk in the park.
It will be a confluence of events.......fear of $$$$ weakness, rush out of US equities and the resulting neg money flow and the possibility of contraction of consumer demand resulting from collapse of equity market.
