John,
If you sell at the bottom here maybe you get 40 bucks from ibm as fair value or maybe more. If you stick it out you have to compete with those guys (not on a level playing field as it is their mainframes). BMC would do ok in that environment and the stock would go back to 40(or more) in a year or two. Why wait? The only way the above scenario wont work out is if BMC kicks ibms butt in direct competition. That is Max's call but from what i have read in past few months is that bmc sales force disheartened and in turmoil. IBM turning the screws. Soon I will believe all of this stuff, John. Buyout here is logical. Mike

PS What would be your guess as to a fair buyout price in this environment? 40 was strictly pulled out of the hat for me.
