Janus's own deep research can sometimes lead to different conclusions than the general thinking on
Wall Street.

For instance, Claire Young, portfolio manager of the Janus Olympus Fund, said she still considers
Sun Microsystems (SUN) attractive, despite its high price. That's because, based on conversation
with Sun and its customers, she thinks there's potential for high growth for the company by
supplying products to telecommunications providers.

Wall Street is looking for 15% to 20% growth for Sun, but Young said the telecommunications
sector alone could provide that type of growth. So Janus thinks Sun's growth rate will be "10 to 20
percentage points higher" than that projected by Wall Street, Young said.

Equipment companies such as Sun and Cisco Systems (CSCO) will be the beneficiaries of
continued spending by telecommunications companies as they try to stay at the leading edge of
technology, according to the panelists.
