Now you want me to predict the future??!!

OK, I will.

NTAP's upcoming DFAS/VI technology will provide new strength to its disruptive innovation, allowing the efficiencies of WAFL to extend into disruptively efficient clustered filers able to move data between themselves more efficiently than the SCSI architecture of EMC.

NTAP's control of its own OS and file system will allow NTAP to continue to grow its value chain of backup software/hardware vendors to further reduce the total cost of ownership and resilience of NTAP clusters.

Clustered filers using I-Band, FC, and GbE transports will out scale and out perform EMC's offerings with lower cost of ownership, higher scalability, and better reliability.

EMC's growth will remain 1/2 the rate of NTAP, and NTAP will pass EMC in terms of annual sales and gross margin within 4 years.

Now, if EMC applies its engineering expertise to counter NTAP's dis-integration of the file system and does so without violating NTAP's patents or can defend its violations successfully, then all bets are off.

My opinion only and its worth what y'all paid for it ($.00). Do your own due diligence. Don't invest based on my opinion. yadayadyada
