John, there are two major forces that I see converging on gold as priced in US dollars, that may lead to a change in trend.

1. The US dollar rally is getting out of control to the degree that it is in almost no ones interest that it continue.

2. The gold and gold shares markets are some of the most one sided markets I've seen in a very long time. Everybody hates gold.

One and two are in my view approaching extremes. I don't exactly know what the catalyst will be that tips the scales in the other direction, but my guess would be concerted CB action against the dollar. Something simply must be done to clean up this developing worldwide currency mess and soon. BWDIK, hey, maybe it's ok if Europe and Asia go the way of the Weimar Republic.
