PSDI And PeopleSoft Announce Worldwide Alliance
Joint Development and Marketing Initiative to Provide Enterprise-Wide Maintenance with Best-of-Breed Solutions Across Multiple Industries
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., May 20 /PRNewswire/ -- PSDI, Project Software and Development, Inc., (Nasdaq:PSDI), a leading provider of client/server maintenance management systems, today announced a worldwide joint marketing agreement with PeopleSoft (Nasdaq:PSFT), a leading provider of enterprise applications software. PSDI is developing integration capabilities between PSDI's MAXIMO maintenance management software and PeopleSoft's client/server package. The integration is designed to combine MAXIMO's critical maintenance operation and cost data, with PeopleSoft's enterprise-level resource and financial information.
``PSDI's client/server development strategy has mirrored our own, making MAXIMO a natural fit for our client base,'' said Rob McKelligan, vice president, manufacturing/distribution product strategy at PeopleSoft. ``This relationship will benefit both companies as we solve our clients most critical business challenges with easily integrated products that combine specific expertise and best practices.''
``There is remarkable synergy between the two companies -- PeopleSoft and PSDI share not only a client/server technology focus, the companies also share complementary success in key markets such as manufacturing, education, and the public sector,'' said Chip Drapeau, PSDI's executive vice president worldwide sales and marketing. ``MAXIMO's open architecture will enable seamless integration to PeopleSoft's product suite, providing a comprehensive and best of breed application offering for users.''
Boise Cascade, a $5 billion forest products enterprise, is one of the first companies to take advantage of the PSDI and PeopleSoft alliance. ``We're encouraged by the quality of the API that PSDI offers for linking PeopleSoft's products, and the relative ease with which we can tailor MAXIMO for our specific business processes,'' said Norm Beckert, director of corporate purchasing for the paper division of Boise Cascade. ``We've been integrating PSDI's MAXIMO products as part of our enterprise-wide PeopleSoft implementation, and we are indeed impressed with the product and its potential for wholesale re-engineering of one of the most costly points of our pulp and paper plants: maintenance.''
Maintenance costs are expected to decrease at Boise Cascade's paper mills who chose MAXIMO to focus on proactive, preventive maintenance by avoiding costly emergency repairs, and to help reduce spare part inventories. Boise Cascade chose MAXIMO over many vendors in an intensive evaluation, with MAXIMO's open technology and API integration capabilities being key factors in the selection.
PSDI develops, markets and supports applications software used by businesses, government agencies, and other organizations to assist them in maintaining high-value capital assets such as plants, facilities and production equipment. The Company's products are designed to enable customers to reduce downtime, control maintenance expenses, cut spare parts inventories and costs, improve purchasing efficiency, and more effectively deploy productive assets, personnel and other resources.
Based in Cambridge, Mass., PSDI markets its products through a direct sales force with sales offices throughout the United States, Canada, Argentina, Australia, UK, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Thailand, Sweden and the Netherlands, combined with a network of international sales agents. |
