Stribe, my opinion of the Intel-Rambus thing is that it was a poorly thought out and researched alliance from the start. I don't think Intel put their engineering A team (or B or even C) on it. I don't think Intel did enough analysis at all on the transmission line environment requirements for the 800 MHz or whatever data bus, which led to the signal loading, mismatch, etc., etc., problems getting into the hardware. All that mess with MTH, etc. was called in advance on these threads. Bottom line is I think it was a management to management agreement between Intel and Rambus, without adequate engineering R&D. Maybe the transmission line environment design has all been straightened out, I don't know. But I definitely think Rambus stock is far, far overpriced. What holds it up, at least so high?
