I am all for extracting stem cells from adults which has shown promise for many diseases. However it seems there are certain unique cells available in embryo (at this point) that show promise for diseases like diabetes and parkinson disease. Even bioethics organization is in favor of this. So is it just the religious opposition (as the embryo has to be destroyed after extraction) or is it an ethical opposition as well.
