Les, i don't think the gasoline supplies are being boosted at the expense of heating oil. Normally this time of year, refineries convert to more heating oil production in order to build inventories for the winter. However, refineries also normally do maintainence this time of year, since it's the lowest demand point overall for their products. What we're seeing now is that even with refineries running full out, they are NOT able to build inventories. Its an infrastructure problem, oil companies have been loathe to invest in refineries over the last several years due to onerous EPA regs, low prices for their products and the "NIMBY" attitude of state and local governments.

I doubt that refiners are very interested in keeping the current administration in office, therefore I don't think they're delaying their conversion (to heating oil)for the sake of algore.

One point to remember is even if we had millions of more barrels of crude arriving every day, we'd have no way to refine it into usable products (gasoline, heating oil and diesel). Therefore OPEC is not to blame if we go headlong into a recession because of lack of crude. Bubba needs a new sign on his desk:
IT'S THE INFRASTRUCTURE, STUPID!!!<ng>
