Re: Smartdrv - To amplify on what PMS said; Although, Windows uses its own cache and does not require (in fact, may contend with) smartdrv; when you are executing these cleanup programs the disk caching driver windows uses is not available. The safest, easiest approach is use the f8 boot option key and take the menu item to exit to the command prompt. type smartdrv and then run your cleanup file. After it is complete, reboot.
