Tony,
I saw the RMBS CFO on CNBC this morning. It was quite comical. Mark Haines asked him if DDR memory would be faster than Rambus. The CFO responded, "We don't think so, because Rambus operates at 800 Mhz and DDR operates at 200 Mhz." Mark went on to mention that he has seen reports that Rambus slows down if more than 512 MB is used in a system. The CFO responded, "We don't think so, because Rambus is used in the Sony Play Station, and we are seeing good performance there." Mark went on to state that Intel had originally said that the P4 would be Rambus only, but that they have changed their minds, and if that concerned RMBS. The CFO responded, "We don't think so, because there will only be a Rambus chipset for the P4 until Q3 of next year, and by that time, the price of Rambus will be competitive."
So, two of the answers (1st and 3rd) were out-right lies, and the other was completely irrelevant diversion. I don't see how any supporters of this company can look at themselves in the mirror.
