Hi richard surckla; OT Re atrocities in general...

We are very lucky in this country. Re the "tenth". It is my guess that Germany got out of WW2 with total deaths of less than 5% of the population, while the Jews suffered better than 50%. That ratio is why I chose "tenth", hey I could be wrong. The 20 million in Russia was huge, but it was out of a population of what, 150 million? I think the Holocaust was the worst atrocity in modern history. Maybe the Armenians could come close... But lets get off this subject.

P.S. It always pisses me off when I read about "innocent" civilians being killed by military forces. They should just say civilians, and leave the declarations of innocence alone. Soldiers aren't guilty, and the press shouldn't minimize the violent death of human beings only because they were (possibly forced to be) in the military.
