Darleen, in this system, the rich get richer(unless they become Gold Bugs) and the poor stay poor or become poorer unless they get educated. It is possible for a person with little means to become rich if they invest it wisely. <My question becomes at what theoretical point do the working poor find working is not worth it> Fortunately, most poor people have self-respect so they don't go that route. The "Moral Majority" tries to make sure these people focus on their next life. But your point is well taken. There is inflation. But growth is stronger at the moment. I'm getting ready for the Al Gore Presidential Rally. If Greenspan begins to ease rates, a soft landing will follow. Equal opportunity does not mean equal distribution of wealth.
