I don't have a number anyplace, and I'm not even clear right now on exactly what assets exist in what form. --- "WordPerfect" brand and installed base is the primary asset. What first interested me in Corel was the Linux stuff, specifically the entreprenurial Linux thing, and specifically there, the Netwinder product and Win32 interop. --- Now the Netwinder exists as a percent equity in another company (HCC --25%?) and interop largely became GOJO (25%?). The remaining Corel engineers though are certainly an asset, especially the ones with Win32 experience and of course everyone involved with *nix. --- Cowpland had/has too many irons in the fire. He did the right thing by turning a few important projects into 'equity'. He wasn't a manager though, and between that and general boxed software trends, the stock is where it is today. --- With a cost basis of ~$4US I was fortunate to sell 40% at $20 or $25 when it spiked. I've held onto my remaining shares though as I beleive the Corel assets represent an attraction to larger interest. --- I'll tell you though, I think Word Perfect would be in a lot better shape if Corel had done more work on a 'portal' version. Yahoo or someone would be all over "WordPerfect" if so, I feel. -JCJ
