eBay Targets $3 Billion Revenue Goal

PALO ALTO (Reuters) - Online auctioneer eBay Inc. (NasdaqNM:EBAY - news) set a revenue goal of $3 billion in 2005, the company said on Wednesday at its annual meeting with analysts, as part of an effort to expand in the United States and overseas.

San Jose, Calif.-based eBay said the revenue goal implies revenue growth approaching 50 percent annually over the five-year period. The company said its 2005 sales goal is based on its estimate of the size of its markets, including collectibles, practical items, computers, used autos and parts, and the continued strength of its business model.
