I heard on the news that AVIRs flu test in children is "as effective as old-fashond injectable vaccines". Everyone likes the idea of a nasal vaccine, so the stock may rise on wishes alone....but I am following this one strictly for intellectual interest. With the new Clinton emphasis on an AIDS vaccine in 10 years, I think that vaccines will be the beneficiary of newer and more exciting technology... but its an ugly fild for investors, because of the history of failed vaccines and lawsuits by individuals who suffer side effects (real or accidental). Also, a head to head comparison in the same trial is far off, and I would wait for more solid data before moving in on AVIR.
