Adaptive Solutions names vice president of product development
BEAVERTON, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 20, 1997--Adaptive Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ:ADSO) today announced that Charles F. Hall has been named vice president of product development for the company.
Hall is currently a chief engineer with Hughes Space and Communications Company, with responsibility for a key enterprise-wide data management system. From 1986 to 1996, he was with Lockheed Martin Corporation with a range of responsibilities that included manager of the company's artificial intelligence center, development of image-based and forms-based information systems, and business unit management. Before he was with Lockheed Martin, he was a senior scientist with Harris Corporation and a research and development project officer with the U.S. Air Force. He holds a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California and a B.S.E.E. from the University of Missouri-Columbia.

In conjunction with this new appointment, Wendell Henry will continue as vice president of systems engineering and manufacturing. Henry has been with Adaptive Solutions since 1989. In addition, Dan Hammerstrom, chief technology officer and the company founder, will move to a part-time consulting role with the company. Dr. Hammerstrom will return to the Oregon Graduate Institute (OGI), where he was and continues to be a faculty member. It was at OGI where he developed technology used in the founding of Adaptive Solutions in 1988. Dr. Hammerstrom will continue to serve on the board of directors of Adaptive Solutions.
Adaptive Solutions was founded in 1988 and pioneered data parallel processing for advanced pattern recognition, image processing, and OCR/ICR applications.
