Gore Attacks Oil Industry, Plans 'Major' Policy Speech Tomorrow quote.bloomberg.com Democratic presidential candidate Al Gore criticized oil companies and said he plans a ''major policy speech'' tomorrow outlining his ideas for dealing with rising oil prices. ``Profits of the big oil companies have skyrocketed just at the time when the American people have been paying these gigantic price increases,'' Gore told Fox News after a rally here. ... Bush has countered such criticism in the past by saying the administration of President Bill Clinton lacked an effective energy policy, resulting in turmoil in the oil market.
